The setup options allow you to install thhis app on a portable device such as an USB Memory Stick. I also liked the feature that rotates the alphabet and makes the text in a file unreadable. And it should be more than enough for you too. EditPad Lite supports converting text files into Windows (CR+LF), Unix (LF), and MAC (CR) format. Until then though, EditPad is the only text editor for me. (And by 'create''edit''handle' RTF files, obviously I mean bold/italic/underline/strikethrough font types, left/centre/right/fully justified pages, with indenting and image embedding - like all the other features of Wordpad I wish it could also replace). If you have EditPad Pro installed on your hard disk, run it and select the Create Portable Installation item in the Help menu. That's what I'm doing until I finally find a portable, tabbed editor with all the strengths of EditPad that also edits RTF files. Insert the USB stick, memory card or other removable disk or device into your computer. Don't waste your time, stick with EditPad.
